What Happens After You Are Approved? From Contract to Cash

You've been approved! Now what? Learn about the final steps to get your cash, including digital contracts and payment options.

May 15, 2026 By Flash Legal Funding

Congratulations! You have applied, our team has reviewed your case with your attorney, and we have given you the "Thumbs Up." You are approved for funding.

But you don't have the money in your hand just yet. Many clients ask, "What happens now?" Here is a quick breakdown of the final steps to get your cash.

1. The Digital Contract

We don't do snail mail. As soon as you are approved, we will email you a secure link (usually via DocuSign) to your funding agreement.

You can review this document right on your phone or computer. It outlines the exact amount you are receiving and the repayment terms. Once you are happy with it, you simply tap to sign.

2. The Attorney Acknowledgement

This is a critical step that some clients overlook. Because the funding is repaid from your future settlement, your attorney must also sign a document acknowledging the funding.

They are not co-signing a loan—they are simply agreeing to pay Flash Legal Funding out of the settlement proceeds when the case wins. We will send this to them automatically, but a quick nudge from you can help speed this up!

3. Choosing Your Payment Method

Once both signatures are in, we release the funds immediately. We offer several ways to get your money, depending on how fast you need it:

  • Wire Transfer / Direct Deposit: The fastest option. Funds usually appear in your bank account within 24 hours (sometimes the same day).
  • Overnight Check: We can FedEx a physical check to your home or your attorney's office.
  • Western Union: For smaller amounts or if you don't have a bank account, this can be a good option for immediate cash pickup.

4. Repayment (The Easy Part)

Once you have the cash, your part is done. You don't need to make monthly payments. You don't need to worry about interest dates. You simply focus on healing.

When your case settles months or years down the road, your attorney will handle the repayment directly with us out of the settlement check. You likely won't even have to write a check yourself.

Already approved? Check your email for your DocuSign link, or call us if you haven't received it yet!
